Terms of use
Last updated 28 October 2026
You agree to these terms when you join. If you do not agree, please do not use Soulmates.
Who can join
You may use Soulmates only if all of these are true:
- You are 18 or over.
- You are free to marry: never married, divorced, widowed or with a marriage annulled, and not married now.
- You are looking for a Life Partner, and you are here only for that.
- You join and use the account yourself, in your own name. One person, one account.
- You are not a marriage bureau, broker or agent, and you do not use Soulmates for anyone else or for business.
- We have not banned you before, and no law stops you using Soulmates.
For finding a Life Partner only
Soulmates is for finding a Life Partner. It is not a dating site. Do not use it for casual relationships, to sell or promote anything, to recruit, or for any other purpose.
Your account
- You sign in with a one-time code we email you, or with your Apple or Google account. Keep those accounts secure: anyone who can use them can sign in as you.
- You are responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
Your profile and photos
- Everything on your profile must be true, current and about you, in your real name.
- Your photos must be recent, show you clearly, and be yours to share.
- Keep a phone number or an email address off your profile and photos; link a social account under Linked accounts instead, where the people you connect with can open it.
- What you add stays yours. You give us permission to store it, adapt its size and show it to the members we introduce you to, only to run Soulmates and only while it is on Soulmates.
- We may hide or remove anything that breaks these terms.
Introductions, requests and chat
- You reveal a limited number of people a day on Free, one at a time, and as many as fit on Pro. Two people are shown to each other only when each meets the other’s must-haves.
- When nobody new fits, there is nobody to reveal. We do not promise any number of introductions, a match or a Life Partner.
- Each person stays until you decide: send a request to connect, or pass, which you can take back for a day. Once you both say yes you can talk in the app.
- Either of you can end a connection at any time. After that you are not introduced again.
How to treat other members
Do not post, send or share anything that:
- belongs to someone else and is not yours to share;
- is obscene, pornographic or paedophilic, or invades anyone’s privacy, including their bodily privacy;
- insults or harasses anyone because of their gender, is hateful about anyone’s race, ethnicity, religion or caste, or encourages violence between groups;
- relates to or encourages money laundering or gambling;
- harms children in any way;
- infringes a patent, trademark, copyright or other right;
- deceives anyone about where it came from, or is false or misleading on purpose, for gain or to cause harm;
- impersonates another person;
- threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, its friendly relations with other countries or public order, incites any offence, or obstructs an investigation;
- contains a virus or any code made to disrupt a computer or network;
- breaks any law.
And do not:
- ask anyone for money, a loan, a gift or their bank or card details, or offer to send them money;
- ask for, offer or talk about dowry. Giving, taking or demanding dowry is a crime in India under the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961, and on Soulmates it ends in a ban;
- harass, threaten, stalk or abuse anyone, or keep contacting someone who has ended a connection with you;
- create a fake profile, misstate your age, marital status, work or income, or use someone else’s photos;
- share another member’s details, photos or messages outside Soulmates;
- use bots, scrapers or any automated means on Soulmates, or try to break or get around its security.
Stay safe
Members may verify a selfie, their work and their income, and a badge says so. We do not check identity or marital status, and an unverified detail is only what its member told us. Fraudsters target people looking for a partner, so:
- Never send money to anyone you meet here, whatever the story: an emergency, a parcel, customs, a visa, an investment or a fee. Soulmates never asks you for money except for Pro, which you buy inside the app through the App Store or Google Play.
- Keep talking in the app until you trust someone. Be wary of anyone who rushes you to move elsewhere.
- Meet for the first time in a public place, and tell a family member or friend where you are going.
- Report anyone who asks for money or makes you uncomfortable. Reports reach us directly.
Reports, suspensions and bans
- We review every report. We may warn a member, remove content, or suspend or ban an account, with or without notice.
- A ban applies to the person, not only the account: someone we have banned may not join again with another account.
- You can leave whenever you like: ask us to delete your account from Settings, which says what is deleted and what is kept.
Pro
- Pro is a weekly, monthly or six-monthly subscription bought in the app through the App Store or Google Play, at the price the store shows you. It renews until you cancel it in the store. The store, not us, takes the payment, handles cancellation and decides refunds under its own rules.
- It lifts the daily limit on reveals and nothing else. It never places you higher in anyone’s introductions or shows you to more people.
- A price change applies from your next renewal and never to time you have already paid for.
Changes
We may change, add or remove features. If we change these terms in a way that matters to you, we will tell you in the app and ask you to agree again before you carry on.
Our responsibility
- We run Soulmates with reasonable care and skill, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors.
- We are not responsible for what members say or do, on Soulmates or off it. We act on reports as these terms describe.
- As far as the law allows, our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it.
- Nothing in these terms limits a responsibility the law does not allow us to limit, or takes away your rights as a consumer.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India decide any dispute about them. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you keep the protection of your own country’s consumer law and may bring a claim in its courts. Before going to court, please write to us at support@joinsoulmates.com: most problems can be put right that way.
